Norberto Conti was born in Buenos Aires, studied Engineering, Mathematics and Art and and moved to Brazil in 1972.
By the mid 80’s he fell in love with Quantum Physics,
a great source of inspiration for the unique blend of art, science and life he displays in his paintings .
His impeccable technique adorns a surrealistic view of recurring obsessions like Alice and Bobby Fischer, and Physics.

Obsessed with Alice
Lewis Carroll, author, mathematician, logician and photographer, well known for his fantastic “Alice’s adventures in wonderland” and its sequence
“Through the looking glass”, was the creator of a magic world that teased
my imagination since my early childhood. When, some twenty years ago, I entered the exciting world of quantum physics, I found many of its paradoxes to be reminiscent of Carroll’s stunning creations. Many a time, some of the magic of Alice and
quantum physics worlds seem to linger on my canvas. So it is no surprise that so much of Alice’s surrealistic presence is displayed in my paintings.

Obsessed with Bobby
Bobby Fischer was one of the greatest world chess champions in the history of the game. More than for its creative, strong yet simple play he captivated me
because he stood alone against the apparently invincible Soviet chess empire.
Most of all, he impressed me because single-handedly, almost quixotically, he destroyed the soviet plot to continue to dominate the chess world. In my series,
which I started shortly after his death, I pay homage to his mental strength, his creativity and his chess magic.

My Heroes
To some, art and science are just different manifestations of madness. When revealed by extreme talent, this madness builds fascinating characters.
Such is the case of Dalí, Picasso, Einstein, Heisenberg, Carroll, Cézanne
and a long list of true geniuses.

Paintings of Karan Raj has the reflection of vibrant colors of Indian mysticism and patterns which touch the depths of human spirituality and give feeling of peace and oneness with the universe.

The canvas is only able to behold only a very small portion of love , peace and harmony that can be seen by the human soul.

Born in August 1965 to an artistic father who was a painter and Inspired him.Karan Raj has been painting from the very childhood as a means of expressing his creativity.

In his early youth, Karan Raj was highly inspired by impressionist artists and continued painting as a hobby but was relentlessly pursued by private collectors for his visionary and modernistic style.

Each painting carries a message of growth and peace, two qualities that Karan Raj identifies art with.

artist statement:

I do not work within independently limited projects, and I see painting as part of an ongoing process.

It started once, and will continue until it ends. Every painting is a chapter of a story, told in a continuous stream. Some of the paintings are difficult to finish, it’s like they have a need for more time. Every single painting has it’s own journey, with emotion and precision.

Paint is added in layers, building a foundation, sometimes visible, other times the traces of the process is the message of the painting. The time consumed in the making, the footprint, is seen through thickness and structure, the traces in the material. The painting is born by the actual meeting with the material, and the resistance and the moulding possibilities are sometimes exploited and used up to the material’s bearable limits. In other works the paint is added in thin layers, and where some elements are disguised and erased, other elements are developed.

In this way the paintings hold several layers of expression.

My work belong to the abstract painting, with a multitude of possible variations, lyrical, geometrical, spontaneous, biomorf, thick layers or minimalistic. It takes courage to choose the abstraction as expression.

My aim is not a new, artistic direction, but to create a personal work composited from variations that never stops, while always being satisfactory for each creation.
I work my way into the painting, and strive to give an imprint to the invisible. The depth of the painting, the material’s thickness, the wealth, pulls the viewer into the paintings. The tactile part of the painting is a condition, and some paintings appear as part of the web of life.

My relationship to the physical is questioned, the transferral of colour to the canvas and all that arises... new questions always related to the primitive process of painting.

History of the March 8
On Day 8 March 1857, workers of a textile factory, located in the North American city of New York, made a big strike. They occupied the factory and began to demand better working conditions, such as reduction in the daily workload for ten hours (the factories required 16 hours of daily work), equalization of wages with men (women could earn up to a third the salary of a man, to run the same job) and decent treatment in the workplace.

The outbreak was suppressed with total violence. The women were locked inside the factory, which was burned. About 130 weavers died carbonized in a totally inhuman act.

But only in 1910, during a conference in Denmark , it was decided that March 8 would be the "International Women's Day" in honor of women who died in the factory in 1857. But only in 1975 through a decree, the date was made official by the United Nations (UN).

Objective Data

Upon creation date, not only intended to celebrate. In most countries, gives lectures, debates and meetings aimed at discussing the role of women in society today. The effort is to try to reduce and perhaps one day finish, with prejudice and devaluation of women. Even with all the advances, they still suffer in many places with low wages, male violence, excessive day job and disadvantages in professional careers. Much has been achieved but much remains to be changed in this story.

Achievements of the Brazilian Women
We can say that on February 24, 1932 was a landmark in Brazilian women. This date has been set up the female vote. Women conquered after many years of discussions and claims the right to vote and be elected to positions in the executive and legislative .

Mark of the Achievements of Women in History
1788 - the politician and philosopher Condorcet French claims to rights of political participation, employment and education for women.
1840 - Lucretia Mott struggle for equal rights for women and blacks in the United States .
1859 - emerges in Russia in St Petersburg, a movement of struggle for women's rights.
1862 - During the national elections, women can vote for the first time in Sweden.
1865 - in Germany , Louise Otto, creates the General Association of German Women.
1866 - In the UK, the economist John S. Mill writes demanding the right to vote for British women
1869 - is created in the United States the National Association for Women's Suffrage
1870 - In France, women will have access to courses in Medicine .
1874 - created in Japan the first normal school for girls
1878 - Russia established a Women's University
1901 - Mr René Viviani French defends the right of women to vote

Italian-American artist, Matthew Lauretti's exhibition at the Ward-Nasse Gallery will feature his latest works, large-scale, calligraphic-style graffiti paintings about New York.
Lauretti's work juxtaposes materials to reveal tensions--between the natural and the man-made, the city and suburbia, class and culture--creating a record of our desires, obsessions, and excesses. Twentieth-century art movements such as Assemblage, Surrealism, and Arte Povera are revisited and updated by the artist highlighting his capacity to express humor, poetry, and greatness through humble means. His approach illustrates the characteristic strengths--and, at times, the principal weakness--of arts traditions.
In his work, Lauretti does something riskier and more paradoxical, entering the spirit of perception as if to know it from the inside. He retains something youthful yet knowing. Crucially it is this swirling inner contradiction that visually shows how successful his work is at dealing with the human condition. Contradiction is Lauretti's way of showing the unavailability of certainty about anything, specifically the human relationships. The result is an art stripped bare, and with an overture so bold and rich, it is hard not to be lured in.

She has considerable expertise in special paintings on furniture and walls, restoration and recycling of furniture, as well as art on canvas. Currently, Dedéia has her own studio where she produces and develops scenographic projects and settings which are incredibly transformed into images and memorable feelings. It is indeed a wonderful place for the individual exposition of her art; a space completely created by Dedéia. In 2009, she participated in the Brazilian Artmosphere Exhibition at Ward-Nasse Gallery in New York, and in 2010, she will attend the Grand Prix International M.C.A. Cannes-Azur in France. Recently, she has been awarded with the Diplôme de Medaille de Bronze from the Société Académique D'Éducation et D'Encouragement. Besides international events, Dedéia also participates in exhibitions in her own country for which she has great passion. In June 2010, Buzios, a very charming city in the state of Rio de Janeiro, will be the stage of a fashionable exhibition where Dedéia will be one of the participants.

Success on Ward-Nasse's participation at the FADA Los Angeles Art Show!

Last January 2010, Ward-Nasse members participated at the prestigious art fair in Los Angeles. The FADA LA Art Show located at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Mauro Soares

Adamska Grazyna

Grazyna Adamska-Jarecka was born and raised in Poland.

Currently she is living in Ames, Iowa. In 2002 she received a BA in Art Studio and in 2006 an MFA in painting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

-A participant of numerous juried and solo exhibitions in the United States and Canada. Her work has been selected by The Open Studio Magazines 2008 and 2010 issue, the Journal of Art and Poetry, "Her Mark" 2009 and 2010 issue and published in the article Art of Healing in Des Moines Register of April 12, 2009.

-A member of Ward Nasse Gallery in New York, NY, Woman Made Gallery, Chicago, Il, The Art Centre for Arts Octagon, and Art Council in Ames, IA.

Alex Brodsky

He is a native of the former U.S.S.R., where he was born in 1958. He made United States his home since 1976 and currently resides in Pennsylvania. He is graduated in Interior Design at the Kiev College/Ukranine and majored in Interior design.

He has private collections at St. Petersburg (Russia), San Francisco, Miami, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Antanas Andomaitis

Antanas Adomaitis is a self-taught artist from Lithuania. He was born in 1954.

Adomaitis has acquired an audience in his native country and has had successful shows in other European countries, such as Germany, Poland, Holland (1995-2001), also Canada and USA (1998-2005).

Recently artist pays more attention to American shows and competitions and tries to become known in American art market.

Adomaitis express a strange and foreign world to his audience. A world that cannot be described in words, but must be experienced trough the senses. In both his art and his paintings philosophy, Antanas is an intriguing combination of polysensory inspirations with a complexity bringing out the most diverse results attainable for a person with unstoppable energy and creativity.

His paintings are in private collections in native Lithuania, also in Germany, Holland, Poland, Sweden, Israel, Canada and USA.

Beatrice Burel

Lives and works in Fiquefleur Equainville (Eure), Normandy - France.
Represented by the Ward-Nasse Gallery and Agora Gallery, Manhattan, New York - USA.

I am passionate about the exploration of liquid substances enabling the combination and the fusion of paints among themselves. I like discovering what substance contains, what substance hides. I create according to what substance reveals to me on the support and according to what I inflict on it through prints.

Concrete and yet fascinating phenomenon appear as well a certain plastic ambiguity. And I like to play with this plastic ambiguity, which raises an important part of mystery. I like to provoke a formal ambiguity. The way I work (through unstickings and prints on paper sheets) attempts to produce an alchemic world with an underground mineral almost organic appearance, which gives the sensation of penetrating into an interior space or a wonderfull lanscape.

“From the substance combinations, aqueous mixes and prints that I perform raises a peculiar world with a mineral, organic and vegetal aspect, which recalls the Origin : the origin of substance generating Creation.”

Laerte Agnelli

Painting portraits since his childhood, he hasn’t ever stopped. Making portraits of friends, colleagues, relatives and then socialites and bank presidents. His drawings lead him to the best advertising agencies from Brazil and abroad, reaching the desired award of Hall of Fame.

After, Laerte embraced completely the plastic arts, what took him to the Realistic style, like his collection “My Brazilian Childhood” that was showed in Europe and afterward in several exhibits in Brazil. Another renowned series of works is the “Era Sao Paulo” a collection that showed his home city before it was damaged by the so called “progress” of the violent days. Some works from that collection were shown in famous places in France such as the Museum of Louvre and the Grand Palais des Champs Elysees.

Leda Maria

Leda was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She received her BFA in fine arts from Fatea University of Arts in 1997 and her MFA in Art History from FAAP University in 2002. Leda has been painting since she was 13 years old. Artist's Statement: "I dream in vivid color. Sometimes the red is so bright that I can't believe it exists inside my head. I paint in layers of color. Each layer that I paint exposes a new dimension. The shapes that are formed dictate my direction. I always know the subject well, but I don't know the final interpretation until the last layers are applied. All of my abstract works contain an element of surprise, and serendipity is part of the plan."

Lu de Paula

“The experience I acquired through both theme and canvas painting resulted in the diversity of my work, which is directed to researching expressive techniques and materials. Impelled by a vigorous impulse to create and escape from reality, I plunge into color layers, contrasts, graphisms and textures. It is almost a poetic language; when the rhythm is found, the painting happens. I am always in search of new discoveries and angles. I define a style and a way to be followed, and the painting itself requires new interferences during the creation process. This uncovering is what fascinates me. Alert eyes and attention to details. The painting is brought to life and takes shape.”

1988 to 1990 – Studied Creation and Illustration in the Escola Panamericana de Arte (Pan-American School of Arts) , São Paulo-SP. / 1995 – Graduated from UFSC (Santa Catarina Federal University) with a degree in Fine Arts, having studied painting with Rubens Oestroem, Florianópolis , SC. / 1996 – Participated in painting workshops in CIC (Integrated Center of Culture) , Florianópolis , SC. / 1998 to 2001 – Became a specialist in painting techniques with Adriana Pedrosa and Carlota Gasparian, working with architecture and interior design, São Paulo, SP. / 2002 – Returned to her studio in Florianópolis, SC / 2004 – Produced the Fragmentos Collection (Fragments Collection) / 2005 to 2007 – Produced the Brilhos da África Collection ( Brightness of Africa Collection ) / 2007 a 2008 Produced the Raízes Flamencas Collection (Flamenco Roots Collection). 2009 - The Creative Process - with Charles Watson, Tomie Ohtake Institute, São Paulo,SP

Myron Leski

Leski studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, has a M.A. in Fine Arts from Montclair State College in New Jersey, and learned painting at the Art Students League of New York, with Hughie Lee Smith, David Leffel, and Isaac Soyer. He has a BA in history and was a schoolteacher for six years. Leski is also a Vietnam vet, and worked outside for Gannett Outdoor advertising as a Grade A pictorial billboard illustrator for fifteen years.

Paul Poliquin

Born Saskatchewan Canada

Mechanical Engineering degree by the University of Saskatchewan

Fine Arts degree in 1989 by the Florida International University with an Outstanding Achievement Reward.

“The experience gained from my engineering background, challenges me to push the limits of the forms and glazes, thus adding an additional (and exceptional) dimension to sculptural work. No two pieces are ever alike as the dissent crystalline structures of the materials are exposed. My subject matter is usually of the human condition and its position in the cosmos.
